My love for the Appalachian landscape and the vibrant culture of its people has always been my driving force. That will never change.

After a decade in the newspaper industry, earning multiple KPA awards for advertising excellence at publications like the Paintsville Herald, Floyd County Times, and The Appalachian News Express, I launched my own magazine, The Bluegrass Outdoor Journal, which evolved into Outdoors Appalachia in 2020.

When COVID-19 struck, the free outdoors news publication swiftly transitioned to an online-only format to continue reaching its audience amidst the lockdown restrictions.

Now Outdoors Appalachia is your one-stop shop for all things outdoors in the region, connecting you with local stories, exclusive content, and hand-picked products from trusted brands.

With extensive experience in advertising sales and digital marketing, I decided it’s time to use my skills for other purposes.

I launched a small store on this site with Appalachian inspired designs. Everything from T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Hoodies, Pants, Hats, Jackets, Swimwear, and customized gear! Not to mention I will constantly be adding new content, products, affiliates, and sponsors to keep the site market fresh!

My graphics, videos, and photographs will be offered as digital downloads along with other print on demand products.

I also carefully select partners in the outdoor industry whose products and values align with Outdoors Appalachia, ensuring you have access to high-quality gear and experiences.
